Big yawn, toss to the right, stretch, scrunch of the pillow, a toss to the left, curl up, toes out of the covers, and then back under, sigh, mind buzzing but no zzzzzing!

The precious need you are most regularly denied or robbed of is one you are likely to be somewhat dismissive of the importance of and greatly undervalue.  As with the dull and deceptive appearance of Aladdin’s Lamp, the magic and wealth that can be conjured through sleep are priceless.

It is not a high-priority, peer-pressured undertaking to rest, go to bed early, and sleep well.  Staying up late or rising before the sun to pack in extra activity or working hours to impress is more the norm.

For many, late or early work shifts with little respite are further imbalanced with necessary home tasks, family commitments, or longed-for, much-needed me-time; sleep becomes an issue rather than an enjoyable, satisfying, and supportive element of life.  As you become more stressed, rather than falling into a deep sleep as you hit your pillow, sleep becomes less accessible, and a good night's rest harder to achieve.

The thing is that to buzz, you need Zzzz; however, you need the right buzz to Zzzz! Activity needs to comprise a healthy balance between me-time, family, friends, and work to get the sleep you need; it’s a circular dynamic.

Collapsing from sheer exhaustion after many nights of interrupted sleep following a stress-filled daily existence is the result of sleep deprivation, rather than a catch-up; it is a reflection of an imbalance that needs to be addressed.

However, if you give sleep the status it deserves and allot it its rightful place at the top of your to-do list, it will help you prioritise the right life choices, discover your life purpose, and live the life you love.

The world feels much more welcoming when you open your curtains after a good night's sleep. Sleep isn't a copout; it is a super-activity that comes with huge benefits.

... Transformation is a practice in self-discovery; a deeper understanding of what-is leads to increased perspective and insight. The deeper you dive, the more you come to know, and the more liberated your soul. Scroll down below for inspired self-exploration with a sprinkle of amusement to uplift your spirit…
