Thinking, thinking, thinking; lots of stuff on your mind: what to do, where to go, how to do it, last night's discussion, things that happened in the past, concerns for the future, desires to achieve more… the mind is busy and buzzes on and on and on.
But where is your mind? Not here, and where are you? In your mind, knitting up the past to make the future… not here.

You’d think it was good to use your mind to think things through. However, it turns out that your thoughts, if not focused on the task at hand, are often more of a hindrance than a help because the mind tends to tilt toward the negative when given free rein. Even if you start positively, anxiety, fear, and doubt will inevitably seep into the optimism, much like a ball at the top of a slope, if you don't exert a little effort to keep it in place, unhindered, it will slowly roll downwards.
So, you need to step back from your mind and observe what it's up to! You do this by being consciously aware. Consciousness is the human ability to occupy a state of self-awareness beyond that of the physical or the mind. It is intuitive; a sensation, a feeling or knowing that is energetic and metaphysical. Your consciousness is the essence of your being; however much you mature, travel, evolve and develop, it remains consistent; it's the Self that remembers all those years ago and anywhere in between and cognitises itself as what is and always has been.
If you practise being present and consciously aware, you can watch out for any sneaky negative tendencies slipping into your thoughts. Rather than drowning in the muddle of your mind, you can remain level-headed, buoyed, and free from the limiting and constricting fear, doubt, and anxiety conjured by the illusory past or future, which your mind moves to as it starts to roll down the slope away from the present moment.
When you are conscious, you are present in the moment of the here and now; a real, relevant and surprisingly pleasant place to be.
... Transformation is a practice in self-discovery; a deeper understanding of what is leads to increased perspective and insight. The deeper you dive, the more you come to know, and the more liberated your soul. Dive in below for inspiring self-exploration, accompanied by a sprinkling of amusement to uplift your spirit…
